Scenario:
- Catchbox Hub DSP receiver (2 or 4-channel configuration)
- Catchbox microphones (mix of Cube, Clip and Stick as needed)
- External mixer board or DSP
- Loudspeakers and additional audio equipment as needed
Setup:
- Connect the Hub receiver to power and position for optimal wireless coverage of the event space and distance to the microphones
- On the Hub's screen, navigate to the IN section and pair each microphone, if not yet paired
- Use the unmixed 3-pin connectors on the Hub and connect each of these outputs to separate channels on your external mixer board or DSP using appropriate cables (likely XLR to 3-pin)
- In the OUT section of the Hub interface, navigate to the Direct output settings and ensure that each microphone channel is correctly assigned to its corresponding Direct output
- Configure each Input channel on your mixer board for the connected Catchbox microphones
- When using unmixed outputs, the Hub's DSP features are bypassed, allowing for full external control.
- When using any mixed outputs, the Hub automatically applies its DSP features to Catchbox microphones. - Use your mixer board to route the Catchbox microphone signals as required for the event
Optional: Connect the Hub to your network and use the Catchbox Control and Monitoring center
Benefits:
- Maximum control over each individual microphone channel
- Ability to integrate Catchbox microphones with existing audio setups
- Flexibility to manually apply custom processing to each microphone using the external mixer
- Option to use either raw audio signals (bypassing Hub's DSP) or benefit from Hub's automatic audio optimization on mixed outputs
- Create complex routing scenarios as required by the event
- For very large spaces or complex setups, you can use multiple Hub receivers and combine their outputs on your mixer board
