Maximum control setup (multiple audio sources)

Scenario

Setup

Benefits

Scenario:

  • Catchbox Hub DSP receiver (2 or 4-channel configuration)
  • Catchbox microphones (mix of Cube, Clip and Stick as needed)
  • External mixer board or DSP
  • Loudspeakers and additional audio equipment as needed

Setup:

  1. Connect the Hub receiver to power and position for optimal wireless coverage of the event space and distance to the microphones
  2. On the Hub's screen, navigate to the IN section and pair each microphone, if not yet paired
  3. Use the unmixed 3-pin connectors on the Hub and connect each of these outputs to separate channels on your external mixer board or DSP using appropriate cables (likely XLR to 3-pin)
  4. In the OUT section of the Hub interface, navigate to the Direct output settings and ensure that each microphone channel is correctly assigned to its corresponding Direct output
  5. Configure each Input channel on your mixer board for the connected Catchbox microphones

    - When using unmixed outputs, the Hub's DSP features are bypassed, allowing for full external control.
    - When using any mixed outputs, the Hub automatically applies its DSP features to Catchbox microphones.

  6. Use your mixer board to route the Catchbox microphone signals as required for the event

Optional: Connect the Hub to your network and use the Catchbox Control and Monitoring center

Benefits:

  • Maximum control over each individual microphone channel
  • Ability to integrate Catchbox microphones with existing audio setups
  • Flexibility to manually apply custom processing to each microphone using the external mixer
  • Option to use either raw audio signals (bypassing Hub's DSP) or benefit from Hub's automatic audio optimization on mixed outputs
  • Create complex routing scenarios as required by the event
  • For very large spaces or complex setups, you can use multiple Hub receivers and combine their outputs on your mixer board
