Power Saving Feature Explained

💡 Power Saving feature is a built-in battery management system that allows Plus system mics to enter Low power or Shutdown modes when they’re not in use. If a microphone is left off its charger, it won't drain its battery before your next session.

Where on the Hub can you find this?

This setting is managed individually for each microphone channel.
IN -> CUBE | CLIP | STICK -> INPUT SETTINGS -> POWER SAVING

How it Works

When Power Saving is Enabled, Clip, Stick and Cube follow a specific idle timeline based on their battery capacity.

Clip and Stick have an 8-hour battery life on a full charge, and they enter power saving modes quicker.

Clip & Stick mics

  • Low-power mode: If the mic is not moved for 30 minutes (and is not on the charger).
  • Shutdown: If the mic remains in low-power mode for an additional 2 hours without any movement.
  • Auto-shutdown (no connection): If the Hub is turned off and the mic loses its connection for more than 15 min, the mic will turn itself off completely.

Cube mic

With a battery capacity of 22 hours, Cube has a longer idle period before it starts worrying about power.

  • Low-power mode: Triggered after 2 hours of no movement (and not on the charging base).
  • Shutdown mode: After another 2 hours (4 hours total idle time) without movement and not being on a charger.
  • Auto shutdown (no connection): If the Hub is turned off, Cube will turn itself off completely after 15 minutes.

How to Wake Up the Microphones

From Low Power Mode:

You simply need to pick the mics up. Once the microphone detects movement, it will wake up automatically and be ready for use.

From Shutdown Mode:

If the microphone has shut down, movement alone will not solve it.

Clip & Stick

Place it on the charging dock
or
Press the Mute button
or
Press the On/Off button

Cube

Place it on the charging base
or
Remove the mic capsule from the soft cover (twist and pull) and press the On/Off button.

Factory/Default Setting

Enabled

Why would you need to change this?

Standard use (enabled): Highly recommended. It acts as a safety net so microphones aren't found drained if forgotten somewhere.

Long duration events (disabled): You might disable this if the mic needs to sit perfectly still somewhere for several hours but must stay live the instant it’s finally picked up.
