An image comparing material treated without Polygiene ViralOff and with Polygiene ViralOff. On the left, without Polygiene ViralOff, bacteria/microbes/viruses settle and may multiply in the material, depicted with red and orange microbes on a fabric surface. On the right, with Polygiene ViralOff, the material inhibits tested bacteria/microbes/viruses* in the material, shown with fewer microbes on a similar fabric surface. The text notes that Polygiene ViralOff does not prevent diseases but protects the treated material. Tested microbes include SARS-CoV-2, H3N2, H1N1, and Staphylococcus aureus. The Polygiene ViralOff logo and trademark are at the bottom.

Disinfection Best Practices

The Polygiene ViralOff treatment actively disinfects the Cube mic cover and foam cap. The treatment eradicates 99% of all viruses within 2 hours, including SARS-Cov-2  (COVID-19). This means you can simply leave your Cube mic to stand/charge whilst it self-disinfects.

Additional recommendations for rapid disinfection and maintenance include:

  • Disinfect the Cube cover using any common alcohol-containing disinfection solution, preferably a spray, for immediate disinfection. Note that frequent disinfection may reduce the effectiveness of the water-repellent coating.
  • If necessary, reapply the water-repellent coating using a solution designed for outdoor equipment.
  • Avoid fully submerging the Cube cover in water or cleaning solutions to prevent damage to internal components, such as magnets.
  • Follow recommended personal hygiene and safety practices.

Disinfection Precautions

To maintain the durability of the Cube microphone:

  • Do not submerge the Cube cover fully in water or cleaning/disinfection solutions, as this can damage the magnet element and the cover's construction.
  • Avoid using hard brushes on the cover; use gentle motions for cleaning.
  • Do not clean or disinfect the microphone element directly! The foam cap protects it from dirt, therefore no cleaning or disinfecting solutions should be applied to it.
  • Avoid using alcohol-based solutions on other Catchbox products such as the Clip mic, Hub receiver, and wireless chargers to prevent damage to their outer shells.

Cleaning Instructions

  • Cube cover: Clean with a wet cloth and mild soap to preserve the water-repellent coating. Avoid machine washing or dry-cleaning.
  • Foam cap: Hand wash with liquid soap or machine wash with gentle detergent. Air-dry completely before reattaching to the Cube microphone.
  • Microphone capsule: Use wet wipes to clean the outer shell gently. Do not clean the microphone element or apply cleaning solutions directly to it.
  • Other accessories: Use gentle wet wipes for cleaning electronics such as receivers and cables. Pat dry with a paper towel.
