How many Catchboxes can I use in one room simultaneously?

The number of Catchbox systems that can be used in one room varies due to the technologies and frequency bands used in each Catchbox model. For a smooth experience with your product, make sure to use the recommended amount of units per room:

Plus system up to 6 Cubes or Clips in the US or up to 10 Cubes or  Clips in the  EU/globally.

Mod as many Modules as the 3rd party beltpack system manufacturer recommends.

Legacy Plus up to 4 Plus Audience or Presenter Mics in the US or up to 8 Plus Audience or Presenter Mics in the EU/globally.

Best practices

Here are some best practices for using multiple Catchbox units in one room:

  • When using multiple Catchbox receivers, always keep some distance between them to avoid interference – the recommended distance is at least 50 cm / 20 in.
  • If possible, place the receiver in the middle of the room.
  • Remove obstacles between the transmitter and receiver.
  • Both Plus transmitters can be used and spoken into simultaneously.

We don't recommend

  • Stacking the receivers on top of each other.
  • Placing the receiver near or inside metal objects (shelves or racks) or under metal surfaces.

Connecting multiple receivers to a computer

You can connect Catchbox Plus and Legacy Catchbox Plus to your computer by plugging in the Hub or Receiver, respectively. Both systems support up to two transmitters which can be:

  • two Plus transmitters,
  • a Cube (transmitter) and Clip (Presenter Mic), or
  • two Clips (Presenter Mics).

Whatever your mix of Plus transmitters, they can both be used and spoken into simultaneously.

When it comes to connecting multiple Catchbox hubs (receivers) to a single computer, the majority of computer settings allow selecting only one audio input source. Therefore, while it is possible to connect two Catchbox hubs (receivers), doing so will require additional software to add two audio inputs.
